ABOUT SATYAPRIYA ROY COLLEGE OF EDUCATION LIBRARY :

Satyapriya Roy College of Education Library was set up in the year 1967 in its old building Satyapriya Bhavan, Ganesh Chandra Avenue, Kolkata- 700 014 on the 4 th Floor with few books. Now it has become one of the important college libraries among the teacher education institutions in West Bengal. The library is well stocked with a collection of approximately 13500 books in different subjects. The library currently subscribes to 25 journals, 4 magazines, 2 Newspapers and 3 employment news. The library provides access to E- resources through N-List, Internet Archives and NDL. The library is fully automated operates with KOHA-open-source integrated software with email notification services. It is a wireless and Wi-Fi system that makes it possible for the library daily operations to be carried out effectively. Three machines are available for facilitating the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) for the students, research scholars and faculty members. It helps the user in finding out whether the book is available in the library or not. Also, it specifies the location of that book. OPAC helps in saving the time of the user by providing the library books information status online. If a user wants to borrow a book, he/she can check its availability status first through Web-OPAC before submitting the requisition to the library staff.

The college authority initiated to create a separate Library website so that the users of this library can access directly to the library online easily where there are various links to the Academic institutions and E-sources platform. Like N-List, NDL, Internet Archive, Inflibnet, that added pertinent links to it so that users can access the E-Content 24/7. Library has a separate AC reading Rooms so that students and faculty members can use and read the documents comfortably. 4 desktops machines have been installed to facilitate the users to have information across the world.
